Flights to Cyprus

Getting to Cyprus will invariably involve flying, but how do you find the cheapest flights to Cyprus from the UK?

There are currently flights to Cyprus from no fewer than 19 airports in the UK from 34 airlines (see the list below). Which used to make finding the best deal complicated - but no longer!

There are three kinds of flights - scheduled, charter and low-cost - and they all go to Cyprus.

They need different tactics, but two are easily dealt with. Easyjet are the only low-cost carrier and you can choose between Manchester or Gatwick to fly to Paphos. Put your approximate dates in, tick the box marked flexible on date, and you will see the range of prices. Book early for the best prices.

Scheduled carriers like British Airways and Cyprus Airways mainly fly to Larnaca, but they do have flights to Paphos too. They are great for flexible durations, where 7 nights doesn't work, but can be more expensive than charters. One tip is to use airmiles, if you collect them, the other is to book early, when they often have great fares available.

Note how although I requested Birmingham to Paphos it has offered Larnaca (LCA) as they only fly to Larnaca from Birmingham. Larnaca airport is 1 hour and 15 minutes east of Paphos airport on a very good road, so not really a problem. With both scheduled and low-cost airlines, the best deals are almost always available to those who book early.

And now to the majority of the flights which are charter. That is airlines like First Choice, Monarch and Thomas Cook. The trick here is to appreciate that you are looking at typically 7 or 14 nights duration, and the low £200s is the usual start point for charter flights, inclusive of taxes, fuel surcharge etc. Teletext or travel agents are good ways of getting deals on charter flights.

Bear in mind that to get the guaranteed sunshine you want you are having to fly a long way, just over four hours, so there will never be really rock bottom prices to Cyprus. We have seen £113, inclusive of taxes, on a recent Manchester to Paphos Easyjet flight, which is real value.

Now you can enjoy your villa secure in the knowledge you got a good price on your flights. Happy travelling!
